Team One: A Local Superstar Agency

For my last Industry and Agency immersion blog post, I’ve decided to look into an agency that many at LMU have heard of, Team One. Located right here in Silicon Beach, it was originally founded in 1987 and its parent company is Saatchi & Saatchi. The reason TeamOne was created was and is to help brands build strong relationships of worth with affluent customers. They pride themselves in a deeper understanding, a more precise target market, and being the leading edge of how they traverse the digital world.


Arguably Team One’s biggest client is Lexus. Team One has assisted and helped create many of Lexus’s advertising campaigns throughout the past couple years, their most recent being the Lexus LC 500 Convertible: Keep the Light Alive campaign. This campaign mainly focused on Lexus’s most recent unveiling of their first convertible in almost 5 years, the 2021 LC 500. They take the idea of having a convertible and tying to the perfect expression of the emotional desire of the times, to get out and soak in freedom and daylight. Another one of their recent projects with Lexus has been their 2019 Brand Campaign, “Our Greatest Curiosity.” This campaign emphasized the importance that Lexus took in the human experience and human insight. In every detail they’ve crafted or every decision they’ve made, they have started with human insight over engineering or some random set of numbers.This campaign showed consumers that Lexus isn’t just any other car brand but is one that holds a human-centered point of view in every decision they make.

Another one of Team One’s biggest clients is American online travel company, Expedia. One of their most recent collaborations has been Expedia’s “Stop Motion: Start Traveling” campaign. With the Coronavirus pandemic being a large factor to limited traveling around the world, Expedia partnered with Team One launched a global campaign that was intended to acknowledge the realities of COVID-19 and encourage homebound travelers to “feel inspired to get back out there, when they’re ready.” The centerpiece of this campaign was the 30 second TV spot which was filmed using stop motion techniques and depicts a couple using common household items inside their apartment to “explore the world.” Another one of their recent campaigns was the global campaign, “Inspired Expedia.” This campaign focused on the family ideals behind planning a trip and how cumbersome that process can be. Expedia launched this campaign in 10 global markets with 15 unique spots, highlighting how Expedia has everything your trip needs for everyone you love.

Along with Lexus and Expedia, Team One has other big name clients such as HSBC Premier, Haagen Dazs, Indian Motorcycle Manufacturing Company, The Ritz Carlton and more.


A reason for Team One’s success is their company culture. They stress the importance of teamwork and collaboration, building their workspace to be an area of openness while pairing that with events to help their local community helps bring everyone closer together. Which in turn facilitates a more enjoyable, pristine working environment.
